Good Friday, also known as Great Friday, or Holy Friday falls on April 19 this year. It holds special significance for the Christian community as it commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at the Calvary. Good Friday is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum, precedes Easter Sunday, and may coincide with the Jewish observance of Passover. Good Friday is observed as a day for solemn mourning from all our sin. On Good Friday, people keep fasts and pray to the Lord. It's a day of repentance and reminder of Jesus Christ's sacrifices. Church services are organised around noon or midday to 3 PM. To observe this day, all the decorations from the statues are removed. The priests are dressed in black robes in traditional churches.
