Gold and silver prices fell sharply today, with gold goes down 0.6% to Rs 46,377 per 10 grams on the Multi Commodity Exchange. Silver prices also saw a sharp fall on Thursday, the highest in recent months. Silver rates fell 1%. Gold closed flat in the previous session while silver gained 1.2%. Bullion is trading in the Red Zone all week.

In the same global markets, gold prices have come down today after the U.S. Federal Reserve signalled to ease its monthly bond purchases. Spot gold fell 0.3% to $1,762.33 an ounce. The dollar index remained close to a one-month high. According to the same Good Returns portal, 24-carat gold is being sold in India at Rs 46,360 per ten grams on Thursday.

Silver is priced at Rs 60,900 per kg, up 1,100 rupees from yesterday's trading price. In New Delhi and Mumbai, 22-carat gold is priced at Rs 46,000 and Rs 45,360 at Rs 10 grams respectively. According to the portal, the yellow metal is selling in Chennai at Rs 44,110. On the other hand, 24-carat gold is being sold for Rs 50,180 at Rs 10 grams in Delhi and Rs 46,360 in Mumbai at 10 grams. Gold is priced at Rs 48,110 in Chennai this morning. The price in Kolkata is Rs 48,900.
