Good news for Army Jawans, transfer to place of choice now- Home Ministry's big decision

New Delhi: Transfer of jawans to security forces is a major problem. Applications relating to a large number of transfers are being rejected every year. In view of the growing complaint of jawans, the Ministry of Home Affairs has asked all security forces to strictly comply with the rotational transfer policy between hard and soft postings through all transfer software. This will lead to transparency in transfers.

Quoting Amit Shah's direction, a letter sent to the security forces said that ITBP, CISF, and SSB have said that their software is ready and they have also started using it. While CRPF, BSF, and Assam Rifles have said that their software is in an advanced stage. The Ministry has told all the security forces that a long time has passed since the Home Minister's directive, so it should not be delayed now.

According to statistics, about 30 percent of transfer applications were rejected in 2016, but in later years the figure has gone up from 50 to 60 percent. The jawans are upset about not getting a transfer instead of their choice. Sometimes due to complex transfer policy, the decision on proper transfer application is also too late. However, security forces officials claim that a proper mechanism has been put in place in all security forces for transfers. An official said a large number of employees do not qualify for transfer applicants. Most of the applications which apply without completing their posting term are also rejected.
