New Delhi: The good news for central employees that they had been waiting for has already arrived. Dearness allowance of central employees is going to be increased from July 1. Dearness allowance of employees will now be 38 per cent directly. The benefit of this increase will be seen by them in the form of bumper increments in salary. Amid rising inflation, the Dearness Allowance Hike of employees may be extended in July. The All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI), which came out in March, has determined that the dearness allowance may increase at the rate of 4 per cent in July-August.

Significantly, the AICP index for January and February 2022 declined. While the AICP index figure was at 125.1 in January, it was at 125 in February, while in March it rose one point to 126. The numbers for April-May and June are yet to come. If the figure goes above 126, the government can increase the DA by 4 per cent. If the government increases the DA by 4 per cent, then the DA of central employees will increase from 34 per cent to 38 per cent. Now let's see here how much the maximum and minimum basic salary will increase.

Calculation on maximum basic salary:-
1. Basic salary of the employee -  Rs . 56,900
2. New Dearness Allowance (38%) - Rs 21,622/month
3. Dearness Allowance (34%) so far - Rs.19,346/month
How much dearness allowance increased - 21,622-19,346 = Rs. 2,276/month
Increase in annual salary - 2,276X12 = Rs. 27,312

Basic salary of the employee - Rs . 18,000
2. New Dearness Allowance (38%) - Rs.6840/month
3. Dearness Allowance (34%) so far - Rs.6120/month
How much dearness allowance increased - 6840-6120 = Rs. 720/month
Increase in annual salary - 720 X12 = Rs. 8,640
