New Delhi:On the first day of the year 2019  retail fuel prices continued to decline trend making common people happy. Amid the recent drop in global crude oil prices and appreciation in the rupee against the US dollar, Petrol price on Tuesday was slashed by around 17 paise per litre across major cities of the nation. 
Petrol prices in the national capital Delhi were cut to Rs 68.65 per litre from Rs 68.84 while diesel prices  went down to Rs 62.66 from Rs 63.86 a litre, as per the price notification of state-owned oil firms.
In the financial capital Mumbai, petrol is priced at Rs 74.30 which is down 17 paise from Monday’s rate of Rs 74.47. On the other hand Diesel in Mumbai is being sold at Rs 65.56 as against Rs 65.76 on Monday As per the figures available on Indian Oil Corporation website in Kolkata a litre of petrol on Tuesday costs Rs 70.78 while diesel is cut 16 paise compared to Monday’s price and priced today at Rs 64.42.
 In Chennai, petrol and diesel are priced at Rs 71.22 and Rs 66.14 respectively  which are down 19 paise and 21 paise respectively.
