The people of the capital, who were facing problems due to the humid heat, could not get any special relief on Saturday. The clouds kept roaming throughout the day and finally came out without any rain. The Meteorological Department has said that there will be light rains on Sunday with the addition of hailstorm, which will get rid of the heat. Senior researcher of the India Meteorological Department, Rajendra Kumar Gennamani, said that it is expected that there will be good rain in one day in Delhi. There will be no rain from the day after tomorrow (14 July), it will start again from 16 July.
Earlier, the Meteorological Department has said that there may be moderate rains with thunderstorms in Gurugram, Meerut, Rohtak, Ghaziabad, Noida Delhi, Faridabad, and Greater Noida in a span of two hours. During this time the wind speed will be 30-60 km per hour. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, remaining parts of Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir, remaining Madhya Pradesh, South Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka.
According to weather forecast agency Skymet, moderate to heavy rains will continue in West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, Eastern UP and Coastal Karnataka today. Light to moderate rains may occur over northeastern India, Jharkhand, northern Odisha, northern Chhattisgarh, north-eastern Madhya Pradesh, northern Punjab and Haryana in some parts of Bihar. There is scope for light to moderate rain in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Delhi. Some areas in Tamil Nadu and East Rajasthan may receive light rains, while Saurashtra and Kutch in Gujarat may receive light rains at one or two places.
