Google's executive chairman says Lithium ion batteries are 'promising'

John Goodenough is the inventor of the Lithium-ion battery. The 94-year-old creator said that Lithium ion batteries are more stable than other batteries. And Google parent company Alphabet Inc.'s software engineer and Alphabet's chairman Eric Schmidt believes that Lithium batteries are more "promising".

Eric stated his statement on social media giant Twitter, "John Goodenough, inventor of the lithium battery, has developed the first all-solid-state battery cells."

Julia Attwood, an analyst at Bloomberg New Energy Finance said, "Some technologies encounter significant difficulties when they attempt to scale up. It could be a while before we’re seeing these materials in electric vehicles or stationary storage.”
