USA: Google, a major player in the US tech industry, has added new functionality to its Android smartphone contact service. They also come with an illustration tool and a "highlight" tab.

In the former, users can view their most frequently used contacts in a grid, while in the latter, users can design unique profile images for their contacts. It should be noted that there have been a number of changes to Google Contacts this year.

The Contacts app is no exception to Google's regular updates that add new features to its services. These updates are designed to improve the user experience, to prevent users from switching to other apps to meet their needs. The grid view for contacts provided by "Highlights" is undoubtedly more user-friendly than a straight list view.

The "Highlights" tab is located in the "Content You" bar of Google Contacts, between the "Contacts" and "Fix and manage" tabs. Users can see a grid of their most favorite contacts, four icons in a row, below the search field. It can expand with new contacts. Under "Favorites" is a two-tab "Recent" section that begins with "Recently Viewed".

The need for a brand new tab for "Highlights" is not yet clear. However, users may find it a useful way to use Google Contacts. They could just search the invitation grid instead of scrolling through it.

You can edit any contact card in the list using the Illustration tools. Along with Google Photos and Device Photos, it's the first tab in the Contacts app.

To use the tool, users must first select an image, insert it into the editor, and then select the "Quick Crop" option. In September 2021, Gmail introduced this feature for the first time.
