New Delhi: Search engine giant Google faced heavy criticism on Thursday over its search results. In fact, on searching for 'India's worst language', Google showed Kannada as a result. The search result also led to an apology to the Google for hurting emotions after anger arose among the people. But it soon went viral and there were sharp reactions to Google doing so.

Many languages and dialects are spoken in India. The Constitution of the country also mentions 22 languages. Apart from this, there are many languages in the country. As a result of a recent search question, Google described Kannada as india's "ugliest language". Google's result has hurt the basic sentiments of the people of Karnataka. Many people have disagreed on this issue. Social media users have taken a dig at Google for popuping up websites that defame Kannada language at the top.

On this, the Yediyurappa government in Karnataka warned the Google to issue a legal notice.  However, when people expressed their anger and political leaders criticised the Google by moving away from party lines, it removed Kannada as "the worst language in India" and apologised to the people saying the search result does not reflect his opinion.
