In this mail, the approval of Indian-origin Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google's parent company Alphabet, has also been mentioned on the decision of retrenchment. According to the report, due to various reasons, the decision of layoffs has been taken in Google and Sundar Pichai has agreed to take full responsibility for all these decisions. The beginning of the year means in January 2023 itself, in a note sent by Google CEO Sundar Pichai, he claimed that Google's fired employees outside the US would get support as per local rules.
While Google has laid off 453 employees in India, it is not yet clear how many employees are affected globally, or whether there will be more layoffs at the tech giant.
