New Delhi: The world's leading and famous search engine company Google will give a huge amount of 1.07 billion dollars to the French government. The company will pay this amount in connection with the closure of a tax dispute with the government. The agreement was announced in court. In which it was said to give an amount of 96.5 million euros i.e. $ 1.07 billion. Google will pay a penalty of 500 million euros for tax evasion. In addition, Google will have to pay 46.5 million euros to settle the claims of the French authorities. Google has confirmed the settlement by issuing a statement.

The company recently made a similar out-of-court settlement with Italy and Britain. However, the size of the agreement with France is much larger than the former. After all these settlements, the major technology company wants to have a clear international tax structure. France's Justice Minister Nicole Bellobet and Budget Minister Gerald Durmenin have welcomed the resolution of all pending cases. He has said that this is the result of the last two years of hard work of the French authorities.

Bellobet said that this result is good in terms of public finance. Bellobet said "the settlement shows that France authorities have the necessary tools to ensure a uniform tax system". Google and several major US tech companies have their headquarters in Ireland. The reason behind this is a corporate tax of only 12.5 per cent in Ireland. The government there wants to attract big companies through lower taxes.
