Dehradun: In the incident of killing a BA student by trapping her in a love trap and converting her to Kaliar, the Banaras police reached Kaliar with the killer. The skeleton of the student was fished out of the grave in the presence of the local police and administrative team here. The Banaras police have taken the skeleton with them for DNA testing.  

SSI Indrakant Mishra of Cantt police station in Banaras said the girl of BA, a resident of the Cantt area, had gone missing in a suspicious condition in 2015. On the information of the family members, a missing person was registered and a search was launched. In the meantime, it was learnt that the student was lured away by Sharif Bahla, a resident of Banaras Phulwaria. Since then, the police have been looking for the culprit.

On May 20, when the criminal reached his home, the police arrested him. When the police questioned him, the culprit told that he had taken the girl to Piran Kaliar. There he had converted the girl and both of them started living together. She died on April 15, 2021. He had buried the body in the Sabri cemetery in Kaliyar. The police had lodged a murder complaint against the criminal. Due to this, the court had ordered the police to take out the body and conduct a DNA test. On Saturday, Banaras police reached Kaliar with the culprit and informed the local police. The skeleton was fished out of the grave in front of Naib Tehsildar Lalit Mohan Pokhriyal and SO Manohar Bhandari, the health department team. SO Manohar Singh Bhandari said the skeleton has been sent to Roorkee Civil Hospital.
