States are also being made partners to encourage electronic manufacturing. NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant has indicated this in a meeting of company heads convened by IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. The Center will ensure that the states that want to set up such units here will have to freeze the price of land and electricity rates for ten years. Under this, the 'Champions of Export' will be identified, which may be included in the committee's report proposing additional incentives. There has been an increase in smartphone exports from the country.
