Alwar: The gang rape and rape of a deaf minor in Alwar, Rajasthan on Tuesday has intensified. While the police are still empty after 2 days of the incident, the response of Mamata Bhupesh, minister for women and child development of the Congress government in Rajasthan, has come to light following which the BJP has launched attacks on the government.

The opposition BJP has already been targeting the Gehlot government and Priyanka Gandhi on various fronts. The BJP has now taken to the streets after the third such incident was reported in Rajasthan in the last 4 days. Last Thursday, Rajasthan BJP leaders reached Sawai Madhopur and raised slogans against Priyanka Gandhi and staged a dharna. The girl is currently undergoing treatment at JK Lone Hospital in Jaipur where a team of 7 doctors has performed surgery.

Talking to media on the Alwar gang rape case, Women and Child Development Minister Mamata Bhupesh said that the government is fully alert on the plight of deaf and dumb girls. Bhupesh said top police officials have been entrusted with the responsibility of arresting the poor. Bhupesh further said that the government alone cannot prevent such incidents. Society needs to come forward and take a collective resolution on rape cases. According to Bhupesh, such darindas do not come from outside and they do not have any tilak.
