New Delhi: In view of the Coronavirus crisis, the Center may announce several reliefs in the Finance Bill today. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has to answer in the Lok Sabha. Since last week, the government is assessing the impact on the economy of Covid-19. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has held discussions with the Ministers of Livestock Development, Civil Aviation and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in this regard.

According to sources, some relief measures can be announced for those who are most affected by the Covid-19 crisis. The Finance Bill was to be taken in the lower house last week, but the main reason for postponing it was that the government saw the huge impact of the Covid-19 crisis on the economy and felt that some relief measures should be taken immediately.

The Finance Bill is a part of the budget process that needs to be approved by the Parliament. Meanwhile, speculations are being made that the government may shorten the duration of the Parliament session in view of the threat of Corona. Sources have said that in view of the danger of coronavirus, the government is considering to shorten the budget session. The budget session is being completed on 3 April.
