The government has issued notices to mobile-producing Chinese and other companies between the incidents of theft and hacking of information from the smartphone and have asked them what procedures are being taken to ensure the security and confidentiality of consumers' data.

In government order, about 21 companies have been asked to give details of the process and system being followed in order to ensure the security and confidentiality of the customer's data.

Companies which have been notified, include the famous Chinese brand Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi, and Gionee.

This instruction has come at a time when the dispute between India and China is deepening. Apart from this, concern about imports of IT and telecom products from China is also a major reason behind this.

According to an estimate, mobile phone imports in 2016-17 are $ 3.7 billion. This directive has been issued between mobile hacking concerns, especially from smartphones. Most Chinese companies making phone calls are in China.

Companies that have sent notices to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology also include global companies like Apple, Samsung, BlackBerry and many Indian mobile manufacturers.
