New Delhi: Recently, former Congress President Sonia Gandhi said about the budget presented by the Central Government that this budget has failed to solve serious challenges like inflation, record unemployment, and declining income. He said that we should ignore the budget glorification of the Modi government and its ministers to listen to the voice of the people of India.

UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi told in an article written in a newspaper that in this budget, there has been a reduction in allocation in the schemes made for the poor and a reduction in their rights. This is a silent attack on the poor by the Modi government. Referring to the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Sonia Gandhi said that due to this lakhs of Indians expressed despair over the severe economic crisis. Poor, middle, and rural or urban classes are troubled by the impact of inflation, unemployment, and decreasing income. Gandhi said the government has reduced MGNREGA funding by a third, which will reduce opportunities for rural workers. Apart from this, the funding for the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan will also remain the same for three consecutive years. There will be a lack of nutritious food for children because the funding for mid-day meals has been reduced by 10 percent. Sonia Gandhi alleged that the five kilos of free food grains available under the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana have now been halved. Similarly, the amount of schemes for minorities and the disabled and pensions for the elderly has also been reduced. Sonia Gandhi asked PM Modi what was the need for such a strike on social schemes in this time of great crisis. PM is silent on this. The former Congress president said India needs highways, railways, ports, and power, but funding infrastructure at the cost of human development is a wrong move. The Congress leader alleged that the government was snatching money from the poor by reducing the funding of essential schemes. At the same time, their rights are also being weakened. Our government has given education, and food, many rights to work, and food were given to the poor. Gandhi said that rights-based laws not only help citizens to fulfill their basic needs but also empower them to demand their rights from the government.

In an article written in the newspaper, Sonia Gandhi said that in the heart of PM Modi, the sense of contempt towards the rights of poor and weak citizens has been visible from time to time. He made fun of the scheme for the poor in the Parliament. This budget also reflects the PM's favorite policy of benefiting a few of his rich friends at the expense of the poor and middle class. The Congress leader alleged that the Modi government had benefited some industrialists during the Corona, due to which he got included in the list of the world's richest people. The government cheaply sold important infrastructure like ports and airports and forced public institutions like LIC and SBI to invest. Referring to the allegations against Adani Group, Sonia Gandhi said that now Modi ji's favorite capitalist is facing serious allegations and the hard-earned money of crores of Indians is in danger. But Modi ji is silent and is stopping the debate in the Parliament. Due to this, Sonia Gandhi, referring to GST, demonetization, and agricultural laws, said that the disastrous privatization by the Modi government handed over precious national property cheaply to selected private hands, which is increasing unemployment. Sonia Gandhi asked if this is the 'Amrit Kaal' that Modi ji wants us to celebrate.
