Patna: Vigilance has also been stepped up in Bihar after the World Health Organization declared an emergency over monkeypox and found patients suffering from it in several states of the country. The Bihar Health Department has issued an alert and guidelines have been sent to all the cities for the same.

The health department has asked the people to be vigilant. The health department has said that if any case is reported in any part of the state, the news should be sent to the health headquarters immediately. The health department said that not a single case of monkeypox has been reported in the state so far. Even after that, vigilance has increased. Guidelines have also been sent to the districts for the same.

In the same directive, it has been directed to keep a special watch on those returning from abroad. In addition, if anyone has returned within 21 days, it has also been directed to take his information. The directive states that on receipt of any infection with symptoms of monkeypox, it has been asked to inform the headquarters. All the districts of the state have been asked to immediately prepare a contact list if any monkeypox infection is found and the patients with symptoms should be kept in isolation. The districts have also been directed to collect samples of such patients.
