For your information, GeM is managed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the portal is currently used by government departments, ministries, military and state governments. According to a GeM official, the Ministry of Commerce is also preparing a cabinet note to push the scheme to allow the public to use the portal by early next year. GeM was launched in August of 2016. GeM CEO IS Tallinkumar of West Bengal cadre is its CEO and has been appointed recently.
