Chandigarh: Various efforts are made by the Central and State Governments to improve the economic condition of the farmers. Schemes ranging from increasing the prices of crops to subsidies are being run. Along with this, farmers are being helped through new techniques. Now the Haryana government has given a big gift to the farmers cultivating sugarcane. 

The Haryana government has increased the prices of sugarcane by Rs 10 per quintal. With this increase of Rs 10, the price of sugarcane has increased to Rs 372 per quintal. The crushing of sugarcane in Haryana is more than that of Punjab. According to the government, the sugarcane mill is running at a loss of Rs 5,393 crores. Last season in Haryana, sugarcane was procured at the rate of 362 per quintal. Now it has been decided to increase the prices of sugarcane to give benefit to the farmers.

Let us tell you that Punjab had increased the price of sugarcane in the past. Thereafter, there was a demand for an increase in the prices of sugarcane in Haryana also. During the winter session, CM Manohar Lal constituted a committee under the chairmanship of the Agriculture Minister regarding the prices of sugarcane. The committee submitted the report to the CM after two meetings and talks with the farmers. Thereafter, the government decided to increase the prices of sugarcane.
