Mumbai: Bhartiya Kisan Union (Bhakiu) leader Rakesh Tikait, who joined the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) and the Mahapanchayat of Farmers' Associations of Maharashtra at Azad Maidan in Mumbai on Sunday, once again showed sharp ness towards the government. He warned the government to fix minds at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and come to the negotiating table.

Tikait said in a threatening tone that January 26 is not far away, thousands of tractors are waiting to come towards Delhi. On the question of when the farmers' dharna will end, Tikait said that unless the government comes to the negotiating table, the farmers' agitation is not going to end. We are asking for re-starting talks with the government on six demands, including a law guaranteeing MSP, he said in no uncertain terms. During the meeting, Rakesh Tikait said that Azad Maidan has been a historic site of farmers' movement. I went to Palghar, where tribals are being exploited, their land is being snatched away.

On the kisan movement, Tikait said the government has called us by names like Khalistani and Naxalites. He said the protesters were called terrorists, but we remained united. Last year was not easy. The credit for making it a success goes to the martyred farmers.
