The coronavirus has caused a stir in the entire country, the Government of India is putting full emphasis on promoting 'Make in India' in the middle of the corona epidemic. In order to promote Make in India in the defense sector, a ban will be imposed on the import of 101 defense-related items including several tool systems, fighter aircraft, and ammunition. A list of things to be banned on imports has also been made.

The department, under the chairmanship of Army Chief General Bipin Rawat, is preparing a list of military goods whose imports are being considered for a ban. Along with this, a list of those indigenous military items is also being prepared, indigenous defense industries are being prepared. For this, discussions are being held with the heads of the defense industry. It is expected to be released by the end of this month.

In particular, a major focus will be on banning the import of ammunition as it is the most important part of our defense preparedness. The government is also making efforts to ensure that Indian defense manufacturers, including both small and large companies, do not face difficulties in the process and increase the ease of doing business in defense. Sources said that the scheme is being discussed after discussing it with the people of the defense industry sector of the country. They will be given a fixed time limit so that ammunition and other military items can be produced in India.
