Dehradun:The government will provide job and sports environment to medal champion players in national games. The new sports policy has been notified on Tuesday after the cabinet's permission. A treasury has also been opened by the government for emerging young sportspersons. 1500/- per month on physical check-up and efficiency basis to sportspersons from eight to 14 years under CM Emerging Sportspersons Upgradation Scheme.

As per the new sports policy of the same State, gold, silver and bronze medal winning players will be appointed to group B post (Grade Pay-5400) in the Olympic Games. While the medal winners of Olympic Games, World Championships, World Cup, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games will be appointed to the posts of Direct Recruitment of Grade Pay-4600 and 4800.

As per the same notification, medal champion sportspersons in SAIF Sports and National Games, World Championships organized by Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Recognized Sports Associations, World Championships, Asian Championships, Commonwealth Championship medal winning players will be appointed to the identified Group C posts of departments as per their level of sports competition and its importance. Medal winners who will be appointed in all departments will be provided with a sports environment to achieve the higher target of the respective sports for the next 5 years. In addition, centres for excellence will be set up for development of priority sports.
