Governor BD Mishra calls for better coordination among security forces in Arunachal

Brig (Retd) Dr. BD Mishra, Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, urged for proper cooperation among security forces to counter emerging security issues on Thursday. The Governor proposed important methods for strengthening the police forces from all perspectives to face rising security issues during a meeting with newly appointed Director General of Police (DGP) Satish Golcha at Raj Bhawan here.

The Governor also emphasised the need of effective command and control, as well as the correct integration of all available workforces. According to an official communiqué, he also emphasised the need of merit-based recruiting, specialised training, and the availability of vital equipment, weapons, and communication means for police units.

During the meeting, the Governor and the DGP reviewed the state's law-and-order situation, as well as the training and morale of police officers. Mishra stressed the need of police being compassionate, quick, and determined, as well as showing justice, a helpful attitude, and assistance for the weak and vulnerable. "Transparency, discipline, honesty, and responsibility must be used by police to earn the trust of the community," he said.
