Former Manipur Congress President Govindas Konthoujam joins BJP

New Delhi: There are a few months left for the assembly elections to be held. The BJP is working hard to increase its strength once again. In the last few months, several senior leaders of other parties have joined the BJP. Now, the name of the former President of the Congress of Manipur has been included in the same list. Let me tell you that Manipur is going to go to assembly elections next year. In a major setback to the Congress ahead of the elections, former Manipur Congress President Govindas Konthoujam has joined the BJP.

Let us also tell all of you that Govindas has been an MLA from Vishnupar seat six times and has been made a Minister in the State Government. Let us also tell you that Congress President Sonia Gandhi appointed Govindas Konthoujam as the State President in December last year. The news is no less than a big shock for the party. Govindas Konthoujam today joined BJP in BJP headquarters. While an army of top leaders has gathered in the BJP ahead of the 2022 assembly elections, Congress seems to be in a big shock.

You must be aware that Congress has come out of the Punjab crisis recently. In fact, the dispute between Navjot Singh Sidhu and Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh in Punjab may have subsided but the two leaders may come face to face again over seat-sharing during the elections. The same can happen in Rajasthan. Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot are once again seen here.
