The Government has finally decided to open Commercial Mining of coal in coming financial year.
Susheel Kumar, secretary, ministry of coal, as per the sources news said, "Next year (2017-18) in the coal sector, we will allocate 25 mines. Of these, two will be allotted and 23 auctioned, some for coking coal and some for sectors other than power, like cement, and four for commercial mining".
He added to this and said, "The discussion paper on commercial mining is final. We would float it in the public domain soon".
“Out of the 25, four have been reserved for commercial mining, where the end use is not specified. The formula and the rules are ready. The discussion paper is also ready and will be made public for comment soon,” he said.
