The government issued an alert and warned of the spread of new computer virus 'Lucky RanSware ' which could shut down the computer and demand ransom instead of reopening it. Electronics and IT Additional Secretary Ajay Kumar tweeted, "Today CERT warned the spread of Lucky RanSware."

RanSamware is a computer virus and it is understood that it is currently seeking half bitcoin whose present rate is 1.5 lakhs More than Rs.

The alert issued by Cyber Clean Center said that it has been reported that new spam mail is being circulated in which the subject line is being given different types of Lucky Ransomware. This RanSware is being sent as an attachment in e-mail. The government has said that about 23 million messages have been sent to spread the lock key ransomware.

In the month of May, nearly 150 computers of the Ministry of Maharashtra were locked i.e. files recorded in those computers can not be opened or read. It was revealed at the time that it was a virus attack. The name of this virus is Lucky RanSoftware. After this disclosure, in May also people were warned by the government.

What is the threat to India?

India currently has an emphasis on Digital India. In such a situation, the risk of cyber attacks is also increasing. In the UK, the RanSware attack targeted the National Health Service (NHS). If there is an attack on such service in India, then millions of people will be affected. In India, work is going on to digitize and link all the information faster. In this way, cyber attacks such as ransomware increase the risk of damage.

What happens is Ransomware Cyber Attack

Usually many malware, which we often call viruses, enter into your computer incorrectly. Often their aim is to either steal or erase the data on your computer. But RanSamware locks your data as 'encrypt' in your system. The user can not access the data contained in it until he ransom it to 'unlock' it. This malware spreads via email.

How To Protect Yourself From Ransomware Cyber Attack

If you are using the old Windows operating system such as XP, 8 or Vista, then update it. Microsoft has released special security patches.

Security experts say that before opening the car, jeep or similar compressed file that comes with any kind of email, make sure that it is correct. Do not try to unknowingly open mail or lottery related emails in any way.

Immediately update antivirus, antiphishing, anti-malware in your system. The final suggestion is to think again hundreds of times before opening any unwanted mail or unintentional link to a website.
