Govt Approval Granted to Dell HP Foxconn and 24 More for IT Product Manufacturing under PLI Scheme

The Government has given the green light to 27 companies, including major players like Dell, HP, and Foxconn, enabling them to partake in the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for IT hardware manufacturing. This announcement was made by Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister for Electronics and IT, who expressed his delight in confirming the approval of these companies for the PLI IT hardware scheme.

Vaishnaw highlighted that out of the 27 approved companies, a significant 23 are poised to commence manufacturing right from day zero. This development indicates a strong push towards India's emergence as a significant player in the production of PCs, servers, laptops, and tablets, according to the minister.

Moreover, the companies approved under the PLI-IT scheme are anticipated to collectively invest around Rs 3,000 crore in India, signifying a considerable commitment towards bolstering the country's IT hardware manufacturing sector.
