Dehradun: An FIR has been filed against unknown people in connection with the Uttarakhand Secretariat Association's indefinite strike, which began on Tuesday. This comes after Uttarakhand Chief Secretary SS Sandhu issued a "no work, no pay" directive to all secretaries, department heads, and district judges on Tuesday, instructing them to withhold money from the wages of government workers who went on strike. The order was issued in response to government workers boycotting work in protest of a variety of problems, including a demand for insurance coverage.

The government has filed a complaint against unknown people late at night, without naming the employees who closed down the Uttarakhand Secretariat indefinitely. Unidentified protesters gathered in the Secretariat premises on Tuesday without authorization, according to Dehradun Police, and forcibly stopped personnel and policemen working in the state secretariat.

They allegedly blocked employees and officers from entering the offices and used derogatory language against them, according to police. According to police, the accused people also blocked the road by congregating at the secretariat's ATM Chowk. The new rule allows department heads to refuse to pay employees who refuse to work. The following was part of the government order: "The State Employees Conduct Rules make it illegal for employees to demonstrate or strike in connection with state services. Other rules have been provided in the case of a strike/boycott of work by employees on the call of their unions, including the execution of the concept of no pay if no work."
