Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated on Tuesday that the government is examining failures at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) in connection with the co-location case, which is being investigated by different institutions. The country's major stock exchange, the National Stock Exchange, is thought to have started offering co-location services around 2009-2010.

"I am looking through the details I have before me," Sitharaman said during a post-Budget outreach press conference in Mumbai. "At this moment, it is unfair to say anything," she said, adding that the ministry will conduct a news conference soon.

The Finance Minister's remarks come amid an ongoing investigation into suspected irregularities at the NSE by a stock broker, which was broadened after a recent SEBI report noted "governance flaws" at the exchange.

During the last three days in Chennai, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) questioned former NSE group operating officer Anand Subramanian about his job at the exchange, how he came to be the group operating officer at the NSE, and his relationship with then-MD and CEO Chitra Ramkrishna.
