Maharashtra: Sharad Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), said that the Central government decided to abolish three farm legislation in the run-up to the elections. "Elections are taking place in Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring states.

According to our information, when those in power visited communities in some sections of these states, they were met with a different kind of greeting. Given this, they may have an idea of how they will be treated when they go to solicit votes. This practical decision appears to have been made against that backdrop "Pawar said this on Wednesday in Satara. "This decision would not have been made if there were no elections in these states in the near future," he added.

Pawar further asserted that the situation today may have been different if the states and farmers had been taken into confidence prior to the passage of three measures in parliament.

"The situation might have been different if the government had taken states into confidence and debated it in parliament. The anger against the central govt was only because despite this being a state subject, states were not taken into confidence and direct steps were taken by the Centre," said Sharad Pawar

'We have 700 demands, we will go to Delhi..' Rakesh Tikait said on the next step of farmers.
