New Delhi: The tenth round of talks between the government and farmers' organizations is being held at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi. Farmers are adamant on their demand that the three agricultural laws be withdrawn. According to sources, the government said they cannot withdraw the law as the country's right part is in support of it. The farmer leaders reiterated their demand for repealing the law.
According to sources, the farmer leaders also raised the issue of the new order and arrest of some farmer leaders in Shimla. The government assured to take cognizance of this. "We will also hold meetings and protests," Indian Farmers Union (Bhakiu) spokesperson Rakesh Tikat, who arrived at Vigyan Bhawan to attend the meeting, said today. The farmer will not return from here. Unless the law on the Minimum Support Act (MSP), the withdrawal of three laws and the Swaminathan Committee report will not be implemented.
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister of Railways, Commerce and Food Piyush Goyal, and Union Minister of State for Commerce Somprakash Takriban are interacting with representatives of 40 farmers' organizations at Vigyan Bhawan here. The first tenth round of talks was due on January 19, but it was postponed.
