LUCKNOW: Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), stated on Wednesday that the government is targeting religious places and a certain people in order to deflect public attention away from unemployment and increasing inflation.

"The BJP and its allies are attacking religious institutions in the city to draw attention away from unemployment, surging inflation, and other challenges. Nobody is in the dark about this. The situation could deteriorate at any moment", Mayawati stated.  There is a scheme, according to the BSP leader, to incite people on religious grounds.

"Years after independence, the way religious feelings are induced as part of a scheme under the guise of Gyanvapi, Mathura, the Taj Mahal, and other places would not strengthen the country. The BJP should be aware of this "Mayawati said this during a news conference in Lucknow. She urged everyone to be cautious.

"The manner in which they are changing the names of landmarks associated with one community would stifle the spirit of fraternity and disrupt communal harmony in the country. It will increase animosity. This is concerning. People from all walks of life must remain vigilant. This will be detrimental to both India and the Indian people "said the BSP's leader.
