Govt to have enhanced security tariffs, air services become costly

New Delhi: air travel has already become costlier since Jet Airways ceased operations, so the government would now have to spend an additional RS 20-112 to increase the security charges. The government has increased passenger safety fees for domestic and international air travel, which will come into effect from July one.

Now you have to repay so many rupees

According to the information received from the sources, as per the order of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the passengers will have to pay Rs 150 each time they purchase tickets for domestic air travel, for which they pay Rs 130 at present. The security charges for international air travel have been increased from 3.25 dollars to 4.85 dollars.

With this, the ministry said in its order, "The above rates of air travel safety charges will come into effect on July 1 at 12 midnight. These rates will be replaced by RS 130 per passenger for tickets issued in applicable Indian rupees so far and 3.25 dollars per passenger for tickets issued in foreign currency.
