New Delhi: Government employees and pensioners have been waiting for the 7th Pay Commission to take effect for a long time. Meanwhile, the big news is coming for the government employees. Reportedly, they are going to get the dearness allowance soon. Apart from this, many announcements have been made about the benefits of employees and pensioners. The central government has now decided to give the remaining dearness allowance to the employees soon.
Recently, Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur has informed that the arrears of three installments of dearness allowance of central employees and pensioners will be restored from July 2021. He said, "It will start getting back and it will be beneficial to all employees and pensioners." If you too are waiting for it, then now the wait is near to end. Due to the coronavirus crisis, three installments of 1 January 2020, 1 July 2020, and 1 January 2021 of dearness allowance of central employees were prevented by the government. But now it will be released soon.
In the reply given in Parliament, it has been said that the central government saved Rs 37,430.08 crore from the installments of dearness allowance which was stopped during the crisis of corona epidemic, which was used in dealing with the epidemic. Right now 17 percent dearness allowance is being given to central employees. The Cabinet has approved a 4 percent increase in it. This will increase the dearness allowance to 21 percent, which will be implemented from 1 July 2021.
