Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has announced temporary price cuts on two of its more popular smartphones in the budget segment. The Redmi 6A and 6 Pro. Post the latest announcement, the Redmi 6A will now start retailing at Rs 6,499 for the 32GB storage variant, while the Redmi 6 Pro will now be available to buyers at a price as low as Rs 8,999.

Talking about the specification, both the devices are quite powerful for the price being asked for them. While the Redmi 6A comes with a 5.45-inch display and MediaTek Helio A22 Soc under the hood, its heftier cousin, the 6 Pro, comes with a Snapdragon 625 SoC and a 5.84-inch display with a 2280x1080 resolution.

 Earlier, the Redmi 6A was available for Rs. 500 more at Rs. 6,999. The 6 Pro, on the other hand, gets a much aggressive price cut as both the 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage variants of the device will now be Rs. 1,000 cheaper and will retail with price tags of Rs. 8,999 and Rs. 10,999. these discounted prices can be brought down some more if buyers decide to exchange their old smartphones for the new Xiaomi devices or avail a special Rs 2,200 cashback offer through Jio. Buyers availing the Reliance Jio offer through Mi.com will also get an additional 100GB of 4G data on top of the cashback and discount.
