Cold is booming in the state. The cold intensity is increasing day by day due to the winds blowing from the northeast and east. The Met Office said the cold spell would continue for another two days. Temperatures dropped sharply, mainly in Visakhapatnam. Monday was 3.7 degrees below normal.

Chintapalli recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 6.5 degrees this season. The minimum temperature was recorded at 7 degrees at Minumuluru Central Coffee Board, 11 degrees at Araku Valley Central Coffee Board and 12.3 degrees at Nandigama. Temperatures also dropped sharply in the coldest areas of Lambasinghe, Paderu Ghat and Dallapalli.
