ATHENS: Greece, Cyprus, and Israel vowed on Tuesday in Athens, Greece's capital, to strengthen energy cooperation in the aftermath of the Ukraine-Russia crisis.

"Diversifying gas supply has become a high priority," Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said during a trilateral meeting of foreign ministers. Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said the Ukraine crisis "stands to disrupt the structure of the European and Middle Eastern oil markets."

He said, "There are dangers in this situation, but there are also opportunities that we must consider jointly.

"The three nations "can and should be part of the solution for Europe's quest for varied, secure, and cleaner energy gas supplies from the Levantine corridor (in the Eastern Mediterranean)," according to the statement "Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides of Cyprus stated.
