This initiative of the Kullu administration has also been welcomed by the people of the district. It is being said that the online green tax barrier is going to give a big relief to the tourists. After Republic Day, taxes have also been levied through fast tags. Deputy Commissioner Kullu Ashutosh Garg has said that the green tax is now going to be collected from the fast tag. The process of the online barrier is going on on a war footing. It is going to be started after Republic Day.

For almost a decade now, the green tax barrier in Manali has been collected from the vehicles of tourists through slips. It keeps jamming here. Especially during the tourist season, this problem is getting worse. This also makes common people stuck in jams. Not only this but there is also an income of Rs 4 to 5 crores annually from the Green Tax Barrier in Rangadi, Manali. It is spent on the development of Prini, Shanag, Burua, Shaleen, Nasogi, Old Manali, Palchan, Vashisht and Chachoga of Ujhi Valley.
