New Delhi: GST was brought by the central government adopting the principle of one nation one tax. So that tax terrorism can be eliminated. According to the Department of Revenue, the total GST collection of the country in the month of August has been Rs 98,202 crore. If we talk about the same period of last year i.e. August 2018, then the total GST collection of the country was Rs 93,960. Thus, comparing the GST collection of August 2019 with the same period of last year, it has been 4.51% more this time.

Earlier in July 2019, the total GST collection of the country was Rs 1.02 lakh crore. Talking about the GST collection figures this year, this is the second time that the GST collection has come down to Rs 1 lakh crore. Earlier in June, the country's GST collection stood at Rs 99,939 crore. This year the Central GST collection has been Rs 17,733 crore, State GST collection is Rs 24,239 crore and Integrated GST collection is Rs 48,958 crore. Of this, a collection of Rs 24,818 crore has come from imports.
