Gucci gets slammed for selling Dirty shoes with a shocking price tag

The luxury fashion brand Gucci is famous for its amazing and expensive items. Now, he world’s ace brands is flogging a pair of vile sneakers with a huge flaw. And they’re charging a ridiculous price for them.

The Screener trainers, are available in a wide range of colours, all of which feature the same scruffy aesthetic. Selling the sneakers which have scuff marks all over for such an exorbitant price has raised eyebrows, where shoppers just could not get over the cost.

Critics took to social media and accused the company  of commercialising poverty and describing the trainers as an example of peak capitalism.

The brand also sells pair of tennis shoes, dubbed the Rhyton, with a similar istressed off-white appearance. Both shoes are part of a rising trend for dirty-looking shoes.

After the issues came in light, Creative Director Alessandro Michele wrote a letter to the staff following the criticism explaining the design concept behind it. However, he accepted that the garment could be deemed offensive. It is no longer being sold now.

It is not the first time that the company created controversy. It  was recently under the critical eye over a design controversy. The brand was widely criticised last week for selling a knit that was accused of racial overtones. The black garment featured a pull-up neck and a cutout with bigred lips.
