Today, the festival of Gudi Padwa is being celebrated all over the country, Shukla Pratipada of Chaitra month is called Gudi Padwa. Hindu New Year begins on this day. Gudi means Victory. It is said that on this day Brahmaji created the universe. A new Samvatsar also starts from this day. Therefore, on this date, it is also called 'Navamsavatsar'. Chaitra Navratri also begins on this day. Today is a very important day for every Indian, today, everyone worships and celebrates this festival with gaiety. 

The same Chaitra is the month in which trees and vines flourish. The day of Shukla Pratipada is considered to be the first day of the moon's art. The mainstay of life provides vegetation with the Somerset Moon. It has been called the king of medicines and plants. That is why this day is considered as New Year. Many people believe that on this day, Lord Shri Ram got the people of the South liberated from the tyrannical rule of Baali and then hoisted the flag (Gudi).

Also today, the recognition of standing Gudi in the courtyard of the house is prevalent in Maharashtra. That is why this day was named Gudi Padwa. Puran Poli or sweet roti is made on this day in Maharashtra. The things that are mixed in it are jaggery, salt, neem flowers, tamarind, and raw mangoes. Jaggery symbolizes sweetness, neem flowers to dissolve bitterness.
