Ahmedabad: A police case has been registered against an unidentified nurse of a local hospital for allegedly injuring a girl's thumb while removing her bandage in Ahmedabad district of Gujarat. The victim's mother alleges that the nurse cut her daughter's thumb. However, the hospital says the baby was only injured and has undergone surgery as a treatment. The case is of June 2 at the Municipal VS Hospital run by Nagar Nigam.

The five-month-old victim was admitted to treatment of pneumonia here. The baby's mother, Farhan Bano, has alleged on Wednesday that a nurse accidentally cut off the thumb of her daughter's left hand while removing bandages with scissors. Bano claimed that the thumb was reconnected through surgery on the day of the incident, but doctors have informed that they do not believe that surgery will be successful.

She said doctors asked her to take his daughter to a major hospital. Bannu said, "We are daily workers." We cannot afford to undergo treatment in a large hospital. I want to see my daughter's thumb first. "Jitendra Parmar, the hospital's resident medical officer, said the investigation would be conducted and the responsible nurse would get punishment.
