Ahmedabad: Big news is coming out in the case of the Bombay 1993 serial bomb blast probe. The Gujarat ATS has arrested four accused wanted in the case. About 257 people were killed in the March 12, 1993 blasts. 700 people were seriously injured. The mastermind of the attack was said to be underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and the Memon family. Sources in the Gujarat ATS said that the police have arrested Abu Bakr, Yusuf Bhakta, Shoaib Baba and Syed Qureshi. The police have also released a photograph of the four wanted to be arrested.

Sources said that the police have also arrested and wanted Akif Nachan. Nachan is involved in a terror case in Rajasthan. The incident is being investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The Union Home Ministry had recently asked the NIA to handle the case of terror modules busted by Rajasthan police. Seven defendants were arrested during that time. A case was registered against the accused under several sections of the UAPA. The NIA will investigate the module's relationship with a potentially large organization, which may be plotting to carry out large attacks in different parts of the country.

According to media reports, Gujarat ATS Director-General Deepan Bhadran said, "We detained four people on suspicion of fake passports. After a detailed investigation, it was found that he was the wanted accused in the 1993 Bombay serial blasts. They have been arrested. The real names are Abu Bakr, Yusuf Bhatka, Shoaib Baba, Syed Qureshi.'' The official said he had received training in weapons and IEDs at PoK. "They (recently) came to India to get their passports changed, only then did we get the input... They found out.''
