GANDHINAGAR, GUJARAT:  Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has introduced the Gujarat Global Capability Centre (GCC) Policy (2025-30) at GIFT City, Gandhinagar. This new policy aims to make Gujarat a leading hub for Global Capability Centres by creating jobs, improving skills, and promoting digital innovation.

The policy, developed by the Department of Science and Technology, focuses on strengthening infrastructure, improving connectivity, and driving economic growth. It was launched in the presence of key officials, including GIFT City Managing Director Tapan Ray and NITI Aayog Director Debjani Ghosh.

Key Benefits of the Policy

• Job Creation & Investment: The policy aims to establish 250 new GCC units in Gujarat, creating over 50,000 jobs and attracting investments of over Rs.10,000 crore.
• Financial Incentives: Companies will receive support such as employment assistance, interest subsidies, and reimbursement of electricity costs.
• Infrastructure Support: Capital expenditure assistance of up to Rs.200 crore for large units and operational cost support of up to Rs.40 crore.
• Workforce Development: Skill training incentives, reimbursement of course fees, and subsidies on certification costs.
• Employee Benefits: Companies will receive incentives for hiring local employees, with up to Rs.60,000 in support per employee, and EPF reimbursement under the Atmanirbhar Gujarat Rojgar Sahay Yojana.

CM Patel emphasized that under PM Narendra Modi's leadership, Gujarat is following a policy-driven approach to boost industries. The state has introduced multiple policies in recent years, such as the Semiconductor Policy, Green Hydrogen Policy, and IT & ITeS Policy. This new GCC Policy aligns with that vision and aims to position Gujarat as a top choice for global businesses.

He also highlighted that India's growing GCC sector is driving digital transformation, innovation, and business growth. With major projects like GIFT City and Innovation Clusters in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat, Gujarat is set to become a major global hub.

The Union Budget 2024 also includes a special plan to promote GCCs nationwide, expanding job opportunities in smaller cities. CM Patel believes that Gujarat's GCC Policy will support PM Modi’s vision of "Viksit Gujarat to Viksit Bharat@2047" by empowering the youth and strengthening the economy.
