Ahmedabad: Tremors were felt at Gondal near Rajkot in Gujarat on Wednesday morning (December 8). On the Richter scale, the intensity of which has been assessed as 3.4 magnitude. As soon as the earthquake was reported, there was an uproar among the people. They came out of their homes.

Where it has been found that many areas fall under the sensitive category in terms of earthquakes. The most dangerous of these is Seismic Zone 5, where an earthquake of magnitude eight to nine is expected. Gujarat falls in Seismic Zone 3, which is of medium dangerous category. It reduces the intensity of the earthquake to seven or less.

Apart from Gujarat, this category covers the remaining areas of Kerala, Goa, Lakshdeep, UP and West Bengal, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
