GANDHINAGAR: The Bharatiya Janata Party president J.P. Nadda announced the party manifesto on Saturday promising that the party would create 20 lakh jobs over the following five years.
The party promised in its manifesto to put into effect all the suggestions made by the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) committee.
In the next five years, it has urged to upgrade 20,000 elementary schools in the state, provide 1 lakh government employment for women, provide free education for girls from pre-kindergarten through post-graduate studies, and allocate Rs 1,000 crore for the construction of new colleges.
It has promised, the party will also build two corridors from Porbandar to Dahod and Valsad to Palanpur, and also two marine food parks, one in South Gujarat and the other in Saurashtra.
The Ayushman Card programme will now boost the maximum amount for medical bills from Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh. The party wants to make the state to 1 trillion economy.
The party has also promised to extend the hours of potable water supply in majorcities in an effort to win over urban voters. In addition to increasing the number of specialised doctors in hospitals, it will expand hospital infrastructure using the PPP model.
It also pledges to allocate budgetary funds totaling Rs 10,000 crore for agriculture and Rs 500 crore for Panjrapoles (domestic cattle shelter homes). The party pledges to build an express route and 1,000 km of coastline to improve connectivity in Saurashtra. It intends to make Dwarka the largest centre for the study of religions.
The 182-member Gujarat Assembly election will take place in two parts on December 1 and 5, with the vote-counting process beginning on December 8.
