Ahmedabad: After New Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), slogans of independence have also been raised in PM Narendra Modi's home state Gujarat. In Gujarat's capital Gandhinagar, the candidates sitting on the protest for the last 3 days raised slogans of independence, demanding the cancellation of the secretariat in the bin secretariat examination.
After announcing the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) by the state government to investigate the allegations of the students, Yuvraj, who has been leading a fast unto death for 3 days, left the ground saying that the government accepted our demand for an investigation. After Yuvraj ended his fast, Hardik Patel of Congress came out in support of the protestor and reached the venue of the fast. Independent MLA Jignesh Mevani along with Hardik also attended the fast.
With the support of the Congress leaders, there was a sense of excitement among the candidates held. The excited candidates shouted slogans. In the presence of Congress leaders, the candidates raised slogans of independence on the lines of JNU, "We will take independence, you can do anything… Ask for independence from the country… I should also speak… You should also speak… We will take away… freedom” and also shouted slogans of "Inquilab Zindabad"
