After getting the resignation from Akshai Aggarwal from the position of the Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Technical University, a panel has been set up to have the position filled by a suitable dignitary for the university. 

The head of the committee formed to appoint the Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Technical University is MN Patel.

There are three other members in the committee, one of whom is Pankaj Jani of Ambedkar University. The other two members of the committee are from UGC and AICTE. 

"I have not received any formal letter from the government about my appointment as chairman of the search committee", said Patel.
