New Delhi: Rajasthan Royals (RR) lost by 7 wickets in the first qualifier match of IPL 2022. With this, the Gujarat team has made it to the final, while Rajasthan will face the winner of the Eliminator in the second qualifier match. In this match, Rajasthan team scored 188 runs, but the bowlers of the team could not defend this target. Now captain Sanju Samson has given the reason for the defeat.

After the match, Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson said, 'It was good to score that type of score, because I felt that the wicket was a bit sticky and there was a lot of swing in the powerplay. I think we managed to score well but I think he played really well to chase down the score. The pitch was a bit two-speed and there was no bounce. I got a little lucky to get some runs in the powerplay, but batting on the wicket was a bit tough and the way we finished, it was good. He further said, 'To score that type of total on this wicket in these conditions, our batsmen's performance against that bowling attack was excellent. We have been doing really well, the five bowlers have been our key bowlers and they have done really well throughout the tournament. Having Ryan also helps, but felt it was a bit better to bat in the second innings as the ball was coming to the bat nicely.

Samson blamed the bowlers' rhythm for the loss, saying, 'We've played some pretty good cricket throughout the tournament, a few overs here and there, some extra runs, some off-rhythms by our bowlers, we'll come back and some. Will try to play good cricket. Luck plays a huge role in this format, so it all comes down to what you want to do under your control. Hoping for a good result in the next match.
